Banned for hacking. Joined the server, i then was flipping through spectate mode after i died, seen his screen was upside down and was tracking nothing through walls, then he also spinned when he seen an enemy. He wasnt very good at hacking, but LZ seen it after he went to spectate, and a few other people on the server seen it also. Banned straight away for 7 days.

that said - a demo recording would be good.

This would allow the rest of us numpties to better spot hackers and also allow us all to be sure of what we are banning.

Im not saying this was unjust, just pointing out recordings are helpful

Problem is, i knew he was hacking, if i was unsure, i would have demoed :p
And the problem with demoing was it was during the day, not many people on, people already complaining after a few rounds as they had also specced him, after i had noticed, so i didnt think it was worth demoing. I understand why, but demoing seems a bit excessive if you post one every ban, as it takes much longer to do than just banning the people.

Like i say, ill only ever ban if im 100% sure, and i was, but sure ill demo from now on.  ::)

I wasnt trying to have a go and dont want to argue, just saying that demo's are needed.

If you were that sure then why hand out a 7 day ban to a definate hacker?

As for demo's if we dont demo hackers then we will be back in the realms of people banning "hackers" who may or not be just good players, and then its goes to a vote in the admin section and gets very messy, not to mention a waste of everyone's time

I knew if i had typed anything you would have thought i thought you were arguing >< i wasnt, honestly, i was just mentioning how i feel about demos. Correct me if im wrong, and it wont happen again (though saying this you probably will state that your first post corrected me). The thing was, this guy wasnt a good player, he was shocking, his screen was upside down for gods sake, not even lucid has the skills to do that :P

I seen him shoot at one person, and he was looking at the sky, jumped down while tracking him and his screen went mental, but he died. He missed most of his shots, but when he spawned, i seen he was again looking at the sky, then i had more complaints, little ziggy had gone into spec at this point, confirmed what i had seen, so i then banned.

I also didnt ban perm, as i knew that if it was such an issue, one of the other mags would have happily banned perm.

But i see what your saying, in general, it is best to get a demo, but i feel in this case (and like all my other bans) a demo was not needed.
